Ever wonder how Yucca got it’s name? Well, thousands of years ago when Palio-Indian groups began migrating into the southwest, they began testing various plants for medicinal and food value. Broud assigned the task of testing the sword-shaped leafed plant to Creb. Creb took one bite, tasted it’s pungent soapy flavor and said “yuck…uh!” Ever since then it has been called yucca!
